As you might have heard the latest ark news, official servers are shutting down, and along with that minimal support for Ark Survival Evolved, and Ark 1.5 aka Ark Survival Ascended is releasing in August. What does that mean for DSC?
It's been said that saved data will not transfer over to the Ark SA, so we will continue to keep up the main cluster as we have always promised to do. However, we will start cutting back on some servers like primal fear and other specially modded maps. As the player base is going to dramatically dwindle. We have carefully discussed this internally and believe this is the best course of action. Currently, the effective date for retiring the primal fear maps will be the end of July. Which gives everyone plenty of time to continue their adventures and finish. Save files after retirement will be provided via Google Drive in a new channel for archived items so anyone wanting to keep their dino friends around can do so.
We will be going into Ark SA very hard with a new dedicated machine to provide the best experience possible for new and existing players. If you want to help with that feel free to reach out. Do not worry though it will be happening. And we will be having servers on day one.
The bright side of all of this information is ark se will be fully crossplay compatible so the number of players we can see joining the community will be massive. This is something we have always wanted and this is what we all have been waiting for and we expect to see a very large influx of people. Make sure to tell your console friends as DSC will be there ready to provide servers!
We also will be delaying the planned Ark RP server for the launch of Ark SA!
Something else awesome that will be happening is we will be doing a giveaway of multiple copies of Ark SA during launch, so make sure to stick around as you may not even have to pay for it! More information will be provided on this as the launch of Ark SA gets closer.
